NAKAMAL CHRISTMAS FOR KIDS

It was Chrissie's idea to have a special Christmas party for the young ones at the Nakamal - and what a great time everyone had!!

We started around 5 p.m. and went on right through the evening. The Nakamal had been decorated with lights, tinsel, and a Christmas tree.
Then we heard Santa coming. It looks like he has hi-jacked Charles' bobcat again!

Everyone had a turn on Santa's knee and received a present.

The youngest one was Alexon, who is a bit puzzled about it all.
The big kids thought they may miss out!
But even EVERYONE 19 and under had a turn. Santa joked that Mark (who is a champion runner) may get a new pair of running shoes!

Even John, who is nearly 19, took it in good part and accepted his gift from Father Christmas.

Meanwhile, there was some cooking going on over the fire in the Nakmal!
Banana leaves make a great disposable tablecloth!

We all tucked in to chicken, sausages, prawn skewers, meatballs and lots of lovely salads.

 Kim had prepared a pinata.

Towards the end of the evening, Charlene sang for us. It was so good for her to make new island friends.

The tricycle with the passenger seat kept the little kids entertained for hours!

It's good to see that people are enjoying the use of the hall, I'm sure the kids were thrilled by Santa's visit and the food looks amazing.
